America chose to bomb Hiroshima with the Little Boy and Nagasaki with the Fat Man. Tokyo was not chosen to be destroyed because it had already been bombed and destroyed and thought that it would be pointless. These two locations fit the criteria that were required. The weather, the distance from America, the moral effect it would have, and the distance from another target if something were to go wrong were some of the criteria.
